Hi guys, I have the active.cgi script available at:

http://www.arlo.net/ubb/hacks/active.txt

However, I want the active topics to appear in two columns of one table with one rows. I am only using the SSI option (3).

Can someone please help me fine tune this hack? Thanks much in advance.

Its not too hard to modify.

But I dont exactly understand how you want your table to look. You want it in 2 columns, but why only one row?
Wouldnt you want one row per line?
Let me know and ill put some code together for you.

Actually yes, you are right. Each topic would have a row. So say, I would like 30 topics to be displayed. Then 15 topics should be in one column, and the other 15 in the other column. I didn't know how each of the topic is displayed, but if you say it's a row per topic, that's fine.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry mate, been flat stick Ill take a look at it now and see what I can do.

Ok now I dont have access to a ubb atm so I havent tested this. This assumes you were calling active topics via SSI, option #3
You'll have to play around with the tags if you want to change the look of the table and stuff, but if you get stuck let me know.

find this
Code
code:

replace with this
Code
code:

As I said, any probs, just let me know.

Thanks bassteq,

I patched the file, however the output is a single column table that has the number of rows = number of active topics to display.

Actually, what I wanted was a two column display with (if total display count is 30) 15 in each column alligned properly.

Any help would be appreciated much. Thanks in advance.

BassTeq, it worked!!! smile

Thanks very much for your patience and help.

Hey can you tell me how to completely reset my index (search) ? Can I delete some specific file and then rebuild my index?

Also, whenever I delete any thread in any forum, do I have to re-build the search index always? Thanks again!!

Hi again BassTeq, I am a perl novice, so I don't understand the mods, but they DO work smile

I have one last request re: this hack, can you set it up so that the table width = 95% and it's alligned to the left? Also, before hacking it, could you please test it also? Thanks much in advance as always.
